With it’s broad glacially carved valleys, with preserved wetlands that include the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, a Nature Conservency area, The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area as a designated RAMSAR site, the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife refuge, other state wetland areas many of which are IBA sites, is worth a trip to this remote yet accessible area.
