Elmira is a quick stop along Hwy 95 half way between Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry. All that remains of Elmira is the store by the same name. An interesting old time general store which serves up a great burger, fries and huckleberry milkshakes. It’s a good place to stop and watch the trains (over 40 a day) while grabbing breakfast or lunch.
