    For over 100 continuous years, the Victoria Day weekend has been celebrated in Kaslo with a three day festival. The highlight of this celebration is the annual May Pole Dance performed by the 1st graders of Kaslo.

Cooper Creek is situated at the northern end of Kootenay Lake, about 25 miles/40 kilometers north of Kaslo on Highway 31. Cooper Creek is the gateway to the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy Provincial Park and remote high-country hiking. Nearby Glacier Creek offers some of the most accessible and aesthetic alpine hiking in the region.
