Called the “Crossroads of the Kootenays,” Castlegar is located at the confluence of the Columbia and Kootenay rivers. Castlegar is a great jumping-off point to lots of recreational opportunities such as cycling the Kettle Valley Railway Bike Route, camping at nearby Syringa Provincial Park, golfing at Castlegar Golf Club or visiting the restored Doukhobor Village or Zuckerberg Island Heritage Park to glimpse Castlegar’s history.
