beaverfallsLocated in the heart of the West Kootenays, the Village of Montrose is on the International Selkirk Loop’s Super Side Trip “Rivers, Dams and Mines,” 20 mi / 33 km west of Salmo, BC. The village started around 1942 when 220 acres were surveyed and turned into the Montrose Improvement Association. The name Montrose was chosen after a popular place in Scotland.

Montrose was incorporated in 1956 with a population of 707. There are three lovely parks situated in and around the village, Viewmont, Frontier and Montrose Parks offer family fun, a water park, skateboard park, and covered picnic areas.
