The town of Riondel is perhaps one of the oldest settlements on Kootenay Lake. Once home to the longest-running mine in B.C., Riondel is now an idyllic village with a lakeshore campground, large sandy beach, marina, store, cafe, pub, golf course and clinic. Riondel is 13 km (8 mi) north of the Kootenay Bay ferry landing.
